Abstract:

Objective To identify the precise ultrastructural localization and difference of β-glucuronidase between the breast duct epithelial cells and the cells of invasive ductal carcinoma. Methods Low-temperature embedding, colloid gold labeling, and immunoelectron microscopy were performed, and the location of β-glucuronidase was observed under transmission electron microscope. Results The gold-particle-labeling β-glucuronidase was distributed in endoplasmic reticulum and lysosome. We found that the quantity of golden granules labeled β-glucuronidase in endoplasmic and lysosome of carcinoma cells was more than that in normal breast duct epithelial cells. Conclusion The morphological model of β-glucuronidase was established for further study in diseases, especially in neoplasms.
