Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of the expression of mTOR、eIF4E and 4E-BP1 in the development and advancement of cervix carcinoma,in order to provide some valuable evidences for prognosis. Methods The expression of mTOR、eIF4E and 4E-BP1 in tumor tissues of 53 patients with cervix carcinoma and 15 cases with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)and 13 cases with normal cervical epithelium were detected by S-P immunohistochemical technique. Results (1)The expression of mTOR、eIF4E and 4E-BP1 in tumor tissues were higher than those in CIN and normal cervical epithelial tissues(P<0.01),and there was no significant difference in mTOR、eIF4E and 4E-BP1 staining between normal cervical epithelium and CIN groups(P>0.05).(2)eIF4E positive-expression correlated significantly with disease stage、metastasis of pelvic lymph node(P<0.01),tumor cell differentiation and recurrence(P<0.05).(3)mTOR positive-expression was related to recurrence(P<0.01).(4)4E-BP1 positive-expression correlated significantly with disease stage(P<0.01).(5)mTOR positive-expression correlated significantly with eIF4E and 4E-BP1(P<0.01).(6)The analysis of single factor revealed that the expression of mTOR、eIF4E and 4E-BP1 was significantly related with prognosis of patients(P<0.01,P<0.05,P<0.05).Conclusion The increased expression of mTOR、eIF4E and 4E-BP1 may play an important role in the development and progression of the cervical carcinoma, which is associated with poor prognosis.
