In this paper, northern China includes Northwest China, North China and Northeast China, in which the Carboniferous is divided into the Lower and Upper Carboniferous. In Northwest and Northeast China, the Carboniferous was developed completely, while in North China,the Lower Carboniferous was absent. The Jiamusi,Aierguna, ChinaKorea,East TarimDunhuangMiddle QilianAlxa,Longxi,JunggarTuha,and Aletay oldlands were mainly developed during the Early Carboniferous. From east to west, including the Songliao marine basin,Liaodong gulf,Beishan marine basin, Qilian littoralneritic facies,Zongwulong neriticbathyal facies,Qaidam shallow carbonate platform facies,Tarim paralic facies,west Kunlun littoralcarbonate platformbathyal facies,south Tianshan littoralneriticplatform edgeslopebasin facies,north TianshanJunggar bathyalabyssal facies were developed during the Early Carboniferous. The characteristics of lithofacies palaeogeography of the Late Carboniferous were different from those of the Early Carboniferous,and the area of the oldland decreased. The Jiamusi and Aierguna oldlands still existed. The ChinaKorea oldland,which was named as the northern China oldland of North China and center oldland of Ordos,and the area of East TarimDunhuangAlashan oldland were decreased,〖JP2〗 while Longxi oldland was increased to its west which was named as Mazongshan oldland in Beishan area. The North JunggarAletay oldland was developed into one oldland. The Songliao marine basin,North China paralic facies,Qilian paralic facies, Qaidam shallow carbonate platform facies,Zongwulong neriticbathyal facies,Tarim paralicneritic facies,South JunggarBogedashan marine basins were developed.
