Abstract: Since the discovery of the interstitial cell of Cajal in 1983,there have been continuous studies on its physiological function and the pacing mechanism, where the relationship between the variation of ICC and the emergence of disease have drawn most attention.Recent studies from the clinical experiment and animal test have shown that digestive system diseases are closely related to the decline in the number of ICC and the damage of network. Therefore, they have provided theoretical foundation for the cause and treatment of digestive diseases. This paper dedicates to the pathological variation of the ICC in digestive diseases as well as their relationship.
