Abstract: Objective To study the effect of hepatocyte transplantation(HCT)intraperitoneal in rats with acute liver failure(ALF)which were induced by D-galactosamineN, and to discuss whether this is an effective way. Methods ALF animals were induced by D-GalN.HCT was received 48h after intoxication.GroupⅠreceived 2.5×107hepatocytes intraperitoneally.GroupⅡreceived 2.5mL NS intraperitoneally. The survival rates, liver function, liver histology and biologic characteristics of transplanted cells were assessed.Survival rate of groupⅠwas much higher than that of groupⅡ(54.2% vs 8.3%, P<0.005), the liver function and liver histology were partially improved in groupⅠas compared with groupⅡ.Conclusion Survival rate of ALF rats intoxicated with D-GalN could be improved, the liver function and liver histology could also be partially improved, via intraperitoneal HCT.
