Abstract:

Objective To study the MRI manifestations and differential diagnosis of meningioma in lateral ventricle. Methods MRI findings, clinical and pathological data in 7 patients with meningioma within lateral ventricles were analyzed retrospectively. Results The main symptoms caused by meningiomas in lateral ventricles were headache and giddy。The tumors predominated in the trigone of left lateral ventricle, shown as roundish, lobulated soft mass,MRI findings of 6 benign cases were isointense on T1WI and iso/ slightly hyperintense on T2WI,markedly homogeneous enhancement, and the other 1 atypical meningioma presented heterogeneous signal intensity and heterogeneous enhancement. Conclusion Meningiomas in lateral ventricle have characteristic presentations on MR imaging, and when combined with clinical data,MRI can elevate the accuracy of diagnosis.
