Abstract: Malignant melanoma is the skin cancer that originated in the melanocytes.Although it accounts for only 4 percent of skin cancer,it accounted for 75% of skin cancer deaths.Epidemiology and animal experiments show that obesity has relationship with the occurrence of melanoma.Leptin as a hormone plays a catalytic role in obese.Leptin can stimulate the growth,metastasis,invasion and pro-angiogenic in melanoma(especially leptin and leptin receptor overexpression in advanced melanoma).This article will be of leptin and its receptor and melanoma of the latest research progress for a brief overview.
