Abstract: Recently,Hypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α)has been extensively investigated as an important biomarker of carcinogenesis.Studies have revealed that it can regulate angiogenesis and glycolysis, and also induce metastasis in malignant tumors. Therefore,it is closely related to multi-drug resistance in malignancies. The progress on HIF-1α research will provide deep understanding of multi-drug resistance mechanism. The relationship between HIF-1α and multi-drug resistance in malignancies was summarized in this review.
