Abstract: As a potential treatment strategy for malignant tumors, ferroptosis has attracted widespread attention.Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent regulatory cell death that is typically characterized by the accumulation of intracellular reactive oxygen species and lipid peroxidation. With the rapid development of nanotechnology and biomaterial technology, multifunctional nanoformulation-mediated ferroptosis combined therapy shows great clinical application prospects in tumor diagnosis and treatment. This article reviews the mechanism of nano-formulation-induced ferroptosis and the latest research progress of ferroptosis-based combined antitumor therapy, and summarizes the application prospects and challenges of ferroptosis in clinical tumor treatment, expecting new ideas for tumor strategies to develop new and efficient anti-cancer drugs.
