Abstract: Objective To study the expression and clinical significance of HABP-1 and VEGF in ovarian carcinoma. Methods 20 cases with benign ovarian tumor,30 cases with border ovarian tumor and 102 cases with malignant ovarian tumor were used to measure the positive expression rate of HABP-1 and VEGF by immunohistochemical SP method. Results The positive expression rate of HABP-1 and VEGF was significantly higher in malignant and borderline groups than that in benign group(P<0.01).The positive expression rate of HABP-1 did not have association with age or histological type(P>0.05),but with the FIGO stage and metastasis(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of HABP-1 had positive correlation with the expression of VEGF.Both of them are extremly useful and meaningful during the carcinogenesis, development and transformation. The expressions of HABP-1 and VEGF play an important role in diagnosis of epithelial ovarian cancer.
