Effects of phytochemicals in cancer chemoprevention

Abstract: Cancer is one of the main causes of death in China and around the world.Its etiology has not been fully understood,but its prevention and treatment has always been a hot field.Although various cancer therapies can improve the quality of life and survival of cancer patients,once the cancer has metastasized,it is difficult for patients to cure.Therefore,the prevention of cancer is particularly important.A large number of studies have shown that phytochemicals from fruits,vegetables and grains have a preventive effect on a variety of cancers.Thus,this article will review the role and possible mechanisms of major naturally occurring phytochemicals in cancer chemoprevention.
